"Experience America" is a two-week-study tour for Berlin high school teachers to the state of Delaware. Participants are scheduled to visit a number of Delaware schools, (public and private) as well as other cultural institutions, such as museums, the capitol and the Department of Education. Educational field trips are offered to Philadelphia, Washinton, D.C. and New York City. All participants are staying with US host families; additional workshops are offered, focusing on topics that are relevant for German curriculum planning. This program has been successfully running since 1999 and has expanded beyond Berlin into other German states, such as Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Baden-Wuerttemberg.
